the Watchmen movie

More or less, zzzzz.

If you haven't read the novel, it's worth seeing. It's still good, but more or less everything good about it is based on the strength of the original. If you have read the novel, it's basically the same.

Though I am kinda glad they cut out the whole excessive Black Freighter thing, but the movie was super long and, for better or worse, didn't deviate from the graphic novel much at all. It's a nice, if somewhat tediously long, bonus for those of us that have read and enjoyed the original. I think they made it way more violent though =/ or at least more noticeably violent. I did laugh when they were calling Veidt (Veldt? Can't remember off the top of my head. Ozymandias, at any rate) a socialist, though.

And WTF version of "Hallelujah" was that? I guess I'll have to go with "the worst version ever."

A note about Watchmen

So is Rorschach supposed to be some kind of hero/badass? Because if that's how people view him... oh dear. I recognize the moral ambiguity in him but I just can't see him as someone people should emulate.

I finally read Watchmen

Wow.

I was expecting to find it tedious and confusing. Instead, it really was an amazing read, and there is so much to it. I have the feeling I'm gonna go back later today to reread it.

The movie's coming from Netflix. I'll have to see how it is.

Watchmen.

Am I the only one who just... doesn't care?
