I love IMDb.
"She was also great in 21 Grams, which I haven't seen." -some poster on Naomi Watts. Wha?

whoah!

I just saw a new and okay, probably more obvious trailer for Eastern Promises and now you can take it off of the list of movies that I'm not so excited for. Wow! It actually looks interesting, Naomi seems to be in awesome mode, and Viggo really could not get any better-looking, goddamn. Although I was amused that they said it was from the director of "The" History of Violence.

Toni Collette is gorgeous.

Seriously. She always plays the sad, lonely, and loveless girl, so most of her movies don't do anything for her looks, and she's not typically Hollywood gorgeous like Naomi Watts or something, but she's beautiful. She's certainly more beautiful than actresses that, at times, I suspect may actually be men (seriously, have you people watched Elizabeth lately? Dude in pretty clothing).

Naomi, I say this for your own good.

Hon? You worked with David Lynch and Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu. That's not good for anyone's health. Then you were on the set of I Heart Huckabees, which as we all know now, wasn't exactly the most fun place to be in the world. And, I know it's old news, but did you ever look at the man who knocked you up? Yes, Liev Schreiber is pretty hot. Unfortunately, he's also the most terrifying man on the entire planet.
"I say this to help you!" -look, I had to go all Judi Dench on you.

2001
2001 was a pretty darn good year...I like my top 10 a lot. It's super idiosyncratic, and probably closer to a "favorites" list than a "best" list, but I did hate/dislike a lot of the critics' darlings of this year (Ghost World, Amelie, Donnie Darko...).

3. Lantana
4. Gosford Park
5. In the Mood for Love
6. Shrek (it's become trendy to hate this movie, but I will always love it)

Naomi Watts.
beautiful lady. sporadic acting talent.1. mulholland dr. (one of the best performances ever; pulpy winner - best actress, 2001)
2. the painted veil (2006 pulpy nominee - best actress, drama)
3. i heart huckabees
4. ellie parker (it's like her mulholland performance lite)
5. we don't live here anymore
6. the ring (acts scared without going over the top; something always admirable but not quite fantastic, as opposed to, say, kidman in the others)
7. king kong (everything in this movie felt fake...including the acting)
8. 21 grams (ouch)
