woooo ANTM callouts!

I feel like my write-ups this week are really horrendous but... deal with it?

1. Rae: I just want to say that every girl did very well this week, except maybe the last girl on my list, and even there, she wasn’t horrible. Anyway, OH MY GOD, I love Rae’s photo. I’m sure some may hate the over-intensity in her eyes and face in general, but that’s what makes me adore it. Her poses are engaging, active, and creative. She’s working with the prop very well. And that face… I still love it!!! My lone issue with this photo is the same with almost all the photos this week, and it’s that she isn’t really elongating her body at all. It’s always important to do that, but especially so when you’re as darn short as these girls are.
2. Nicole: She’s just divine when it comes to modeling. All three of these photos are quite strong. That’s… really all I can say. My only problem with this photo is that two of her poses, specifically the two framing the middle one, are just not that flattering. They definitely make her ass look bigger than it is, frankly. Oh, and I don’t love the face of the photo on the right. The flaws are like an afterthought, though. She’s really a warrior goddess here. Not only does she look like a model, she looks like she could be in, I dunno, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, too. Awesome.
3. Erin: I absolutely love the intensity she has going on here. Her face is flawless in all three photos, and she looks so strong, it could have been easy for her to have a weirdly screwed-up face. Her face is even great in the upside-down photo. She works the sword accessories extremely well and came up with interesting, dynamic poses. My only issues are mostly nitpicking. Like, the upside-down pose… it’s just weird, and her face is a little too similar in all the photos. She also looks kind of short in the photos, which is an obvious problem. That said, all three of the photos are really good and this was a performance she can be proud of, as usual.
4. Laura: She’s still love. And yay, her photos have been good for two weeks in a row!!! I like her poses here, especially that one on the left. I think she had one of the more difficult accessories and worked with it extremely well. She’s only not higher because her face in the middle shot looks crazy, and not in a deliberate, fashionable way like Rae, and I find her pose and face in the right photo kind of unconvincing. I love the action in her shots, though, and the way she elongated herself. Hopefully, she keeps up the ass-kicking photos she’s had lately.
5. Brittany: I didn’t understand the “this is so sexy” critique at all (well, it wasn’t really a critique in a negative way, the judges just commented on it), but it’s a good photo. She brought a lot of energy to her poses and I think she’s one of the few girls who actually looked kind of taller, at least in that photo on the right. She’s not higher in the call-out because she still has some facial weirdness going on with her photos, and while her poses are definitely good, I don’t know how original they are compared to some of the other girls’. Oh, and the sword holding in the photo on the left is making me giggle cuz it’s like… cutting off her butt. Overall, I dunno how much this group of photos “popped” compared to others, if that makes any sense. Still, she did a good job overall, though, along with so many of the other girls.
6. Jennifer: I know she’s toward the bottom this week, but this is definitely her best picture since the “Make Me Tall” photoshoot, and one of two actually good photos she’s had in the entire competition. It’s just less good than other girls’. All three of her poses are exciting and dynamic, and the photo in the middle is pretty darn glorious. I like how two of her photos are “framing” the middle photo. That said, she’s toward the bottom because her face, as usual, really lets her down here, especially in the two side photos. She looks like an ugly skull in those, and her expression seems odd. Her face is fine in the middle photo, which is really great.
7. Sundai: It’s not bad at all, but it’s not amazing like quite a few of these other photos. The judges were right in that all three of these photos are really similar, but none of them seem to be playing off each other in a particularly strong way, like many of the other girls did. Her poses are okay, but she looks kinda short in all of them. I mean, she is, but she looks particularly stumpy in, for example, the one on the right. Additionally, her face, in every photo, is just dull and uninspiring, which isn’t good considering it was supposed to be an exciting action shot. But Sundai definitely has some athletic skills going on in these photos, and she can, overall, be proud of what she did this week.
8. Kara: Sorry to say, but Kara was the worst by miles this week. Her poses are pretty dynamic other than the boring one in the middle, and I definitely don’t see a girl who just gave up like the judges accused her of doing. She’s putting effort into those poses, though they’re not original. Where she really loses it is in the face. She looks totally lost, baffled, and uncomfortable in her face in all of the photos, and she’s not really working with the prop too well either (like, look at the photo on the right… she’s just… holding it up. Yeah.). It’s not a horrible photo, but compared to the other girls, Kara was significantly worse.
