SHUT UP FILM SNOBS. The Departed was much better.
I also LOVE how the film snobs go on and on about how Marty "sold out" to the Academy with The Departed. Uh, yeah. Because the Academy goes for extremely violent remakes of Asian action movies all the time. That's their favorite genre, all right. Gangs of New York and The Aviator, especially the latter, no matter what you think of them in comparison to The Departed (I know some people think The Aviator is better than Raging Bull. SHUDDER), are far more "Academy-friendly" than The Departed.
