I understand saying this is the most dangerous hitter in the lineup and no one else comes close to him or something like that. Like, if it's a one-run game with first base open, there's a guy on third, and the option is to pitch to Albert Pujols or whoever used to be behind him in the Cardinal lineup in 2008-2009 before they got Holliday, you'd obviously pitch around Pooholes and then attack whoever the crappy hitter was behind him. But you want the lesser guys to beat you? It doesn't make me upset that Joe Mauer had a 1.000 OPS in the 2009 ALDS. He's Joe Mauer. He's awesome. That's actually lower than his regular season OPS was. It makes me really upset that Nick Fucking Punto had a 1.139 OPS in that series, and Jeff Fucking Mathis had a 1.583 OPS in the ALCS. That was just frustrating.
