Please don't condescend to me because a. I'm a girl and b. I don't happen to think that Chad Gaudin and Andy Pettitte - yes, even at this point in his career - are "basically interchangeable" pitchers. Thanks. Andy will not be a world beater at, what, how old is he, 37, 38? But, barring injury, he'll give you ~200 innings of league average pitching. Gaudin, not so much.

PS. If you're gonna use sabermetrics like I don't understand them (WAR, FIP, etc.) to show me that Andy was secretly TEH SUXOR last year, AJ Burnett was only slightly better at best.
