Emmy noms out tomorrow. Except I really don't care about TV any more now that I'm just kinda meh about The Office and I'm so busy working... =/

Emmy fashion.
Because I'm bored. Overall, nobody looked amazing and nobody looked horrendous.
Jennifer Morrison: I don't like the hem or the overly heavily sewed (for lack of a better term) area by the boobs, but I've seen the back of this and it's way better.
Debra Messing: I like this. It's a nice silhouette and color, and the beading or gems or whatever add a really nice touch. The hair is nice, too.
Sigourney Weaver: I love the color, but the fabric strikes me as so prom-my. Still, she looks pretty hot, and she's pulling it off.
Carrie Preston: I'm not sure about the shoulder, but I think I like this. It's interesting. Even the weird little wing thing works, and I definitely like the belt, but again, it might clash with the shoulder.
Alyson Hannigan: It's a simple black dress, but I love the ruffling and details at the bottom. I didn't see this on a telecast or anything, but I think it's one of my favorite dresses of the night. The hair is great, too.
Christina Hendricks (this is right, right? Why does it say Kristina?): She's hot. Like, undeniably hot. That said, she looks really bulgy in this, I'm sorry. She doesn't look really bad, though. I don't think she ever could. And I love the cap sleeves with the retro appeal.
Lisa Edelstein: No. It looks pretty cheap. The satin looks wrinkly and the lace/whatever white fabric it is peeking out only make it look worse.
Jenna Fischer: It's not perfect, but it's probably the best I've seen her at one of these things. The hair and makeup and skin in general was really flawless, and I dunno what it was, but she just looked simply happy. I love the top of the dress, but the bottom is a little too wrinkly.
Rose Byrne: This is probably my favorite dress of the night. It's so romantic and sweet. It's a little over-the-top, but not crazily so. The hair and makeup are flawless, as well. I used to not like her, but I loved her in Adam, so I think I love her now. Yay.
Kate Walsh: I never like the whole "saddlebag" effect, but I think she looked really nice. The dress is a good color and her hair and makeup look flawless.
Olivia Wilde: This is really awful, in my opinion. I hate the cut-outs and the effect they create over her chest, and if you could see the back, there's a huge visible zipper there.
Anna Gunn: I have absolutely no idea who she is and I wish I could see a better photo of this, because it's a really awkward photo. The dress doesn't look terrible, though, just a little generic.
Jamie-Lynn Siegler: It's okay. It's kind of generic. It could be in a better color for her skin.
Jennifer Love Hewitt: It's plain, but I like it. She could have used some better hair, though. It looks sloppy here.
Sandra Oh: Another one of my favorite dresses. She looks flawless here, and it fits her perfectly. I don't even mind the lame little sash thing, because it looks nice blending in. If it was a contrasting color, I would probably hate it.
Melora Hardin: Over on The Office boards that I read, this dress is getting a lot of hate, because you are NEVER ALLOWED TO SAY ANYTHING GOOD ABOUT MELORA HARDIN OR JAN, but I like it. It's a nice color and it's pretty. It's a little too Disney princess, but eh. It's really not as bad as everyone was saying.
Joely Fischer: I like it. The color stops it from being dowdy, which it could have been with the cut.
Mila Kunis: This was one of my favorite dresses of the night. I love how she looks like a more high-fashion ballerina here. And I just love her from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, anyway.
Elizabeth Perkins: Okay, the color can't save this one from being dowdy. Yeesh. I do like the color, though, it's just too generously cut.
Padma Lakshmi: You all know I love her, but this dress needs some editing, to quote Project Runway. The ropes on the shoulders don't really work, but the hip flower thing is just truly awful.
Jessica Lange: It's fine. Not great, not horrible.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus: Again, it's fine. Not great and not horrible. It definitely obliterates her waist, which was a major issue with a lot of dresses I saw last night.
Christina Applegate: Half the time I see it, I really like it, and half the time I see it, I don't like it at all. The stomach band is just so, so weird, and I think it's see-through which is a no. But I like the color, and overall, I dunno, it's just nice.
Vanessa Williams: It's okay. A little prom-my. Pretty color.
Mariska Hargitay: Again, it's okay. Do her boobs look weird, or is it me? This looked better on TV. She's really pretty.
Holly Hunter: One of my favorites of the night. It's both really girly and pretty, and interesting and slightly edgy. She needed to comb her hair like whoah, though.
January Jones: Another favorite, for the same reasons as Holly Hunter. I even like the hip flaps. I think they're interesting.
Chloe Sevigny: Yet another favorite! She normally goes totally weird, but this is lovely while still not in any way boring. Polka dots! I love it.
Sally Field: Boring.
Tina Fey: Boring.
Glenn Close: Boring. And off-center, which bothers me with these kind of necklines.
Heidi Klum: I love it. Yeah, I'm getting tired, can you tell?
Blake Lively: CHEAAAAAP.
Toni Collette: I remember not liking it on TV, but it's lovely here. I adore bubblegum pink.
Drew Barrymore: Eh. It's a little too precious for me. It reminds me of the dress Penelope Cruz had at the Oscars a few years ago.
Hayden Panettiere: Eek. This is... eek. I remember not thinking it was terrible on the show, so... I dunno what changed here. It looks like it's barely holding on via weird-ass strings, or something. It's really bad.
Shohreh Aghdashloo: I loved her, though she was breathing really weirdly when she won her award. This dress is nice, but a little plain.
Mary Louise Parker: It's cute. I like that she went with a mini, because nobody else did. Again, how can you tell I'm getting tired?
Ginnifer Goodwin: I didn't see this on the broadcast, but this is so hot. The color is fabulous, I love the cut, and from what I can see of the necklace, it's great as well.
Dana Delaney: This was a nice dress, but not really spectacular. I love how she was defending Wolf Blitzer on Jeopardy during some red carpet interview. Hysterical.
Tracy Pollan: I just don't like that color or cut along the neckline. Yeah... that's about all I have to say.
Kyra Sedgwick: I love the color, but it's soooo twee. It needed a lot less going on.
Jennifer Carpenter: I love it, except for the clumping of the black beads by her boob. That's just weird and kind of chunky, and it should have followed the pattern of the rest of the dress. But it's really nice, other than that.
Nancy Carell: I love the color, but it's boring other than that. Love her, though.
Jane Fallon: It's okay. Ricky Gervais looks sharp in that tux, I must say, though I've officially decided I don't like him in person. He always comes on, makes some really snide remarks, and then leaves, and everyone thinks he's OMG SO FUNNY!!! I like him on The Office and Extras, though, and I'm still all excited about The Invention of Lying.
Wives of Colbert & Conan: Cute. Their husbands are extremely awesome.
Zzzz tired. I'm really sad they didn't have the lady in the crazy Obama dress.

Yay! I guess!
NPH, I love you and you did great (though I tired of the way you introduced every presenter with their most obscure role, but I'll just assume you didn't write that). Plus, you were fucking robbed of an Emmy. Seriously, Jon Cryer? I'll admit he's the best thing about Two and a Half Men, but that's like saying... I can't even think of an appropriate metaphor. NPH, Rainn, and the two 30 Rock guys are superior. Jeremy Piven, asshole though he may be, is superior too. So are Ed Helms and John Krasinski. Etc.
AAHHHH The Office WON SOMETHING!!!! And Bandit got a shout-out! I was expecting The Office to lose everything, so I was really pleasantly surprised. :) The Daily Show getting love was great too. And if I wasn't rooting so hard for The Office, I'd be happy for 30 Rock, because it's really better than most scripted TV. Just... not The Office.
Attempting to explain Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog to my dad, who I was watching the show with, was pretty hilarious.
The funniest/best part of the telecast was definitely the "facts" the announcer was saying after all the various nominees won. They were almost always really random and extremely funny.
Honestly, my favorite speech of the night was freakin' Jeff Probst. And that's really impressive by a guy who apparently couldn't remember to button his shirt up all the way or throw on a tie on the way out of Samoa...
Justin Timberlake has taken over all media and I love it.
Jon Hamm looks like a devastatingly handsome version of Steve Carell.
And yeah, I was surprised that there were only like four Kanye West jokes. I expected several thousand more.

Blah blah blah, The Office needed more, 30 Rock needed less, John Krasinski wasn't that robbed so get over it but Ed Helms surely was. *
Also: ZOMG no JPiv and YAAAAAY no Two and a Half Men (right?).
*ETA before I get hate mail: He was excellent this season, but it was more dramatic moments. Like, I think of him fumbling during so many moments with Charles or, even better, that last scene of "Company Picnic," which was just beautiful on his part, but not comedic.

Julie Louis-Dreyfus: Stunning. I usually hate the little underboob cut-out things, but fantastic.
Jennifer Love Hewitt: Wow, I didn't see anyone talking about her dress, and I absolutely love it. Her hair's a total mess, though.
Holly Hunter: I like it - it's a fantastic color that you don't really see a lot - but it's a little prom-my.
Glenn Close: WTF is this? Does it need a like, crazy spiderweb cape? It would have been much better, if not very interesting, with just the dress alone.
Teri Hatcher: It's a great color, and it's okay until the knees or so. I dunno. It's just a very bad length to cut the dress off at.
Brooke Shields: FABULOUS.
Vanessa Williams: Awful. Did she make this dress out of a carpet or something?
Jenna Fischer: Oh, Pam, you know I love you, but this dress makes you look terribly bloated and like you have no waist. The color's also kind of cheap-looking. I like her hair, though.

Kathleen Robertson: I don't know who that is, but this dress is okay. Again, pretty boring. I like what I can see of her earrings, though!
Debra Messing: It looks kind of like a garbage bag but A REALLY FANTASTIC GARBAGE BAG THAT I WOULD TOTALLY WEAR.
Lisa Edelstein: If the pattern was on her entire dress, it might work. As is, especially with the somehow annoying "gee, aren't I cute!" stance she has, she looks like a friggin' lamp.
Jaime Bergman: All these white dresses are somehow yawn-enducing, while the black ones rock. Huh. Who knew?
America Ferrera: I love her, she's gorgeous, and her hair and makeup is perfect. However, this looks like a garbage bag, but unlike Debra Messing's, SO NOT a garbage bag I would wear. It's a bad dress.
Nicollette Sheridan: ...wha-what? Nicollette Sheridan actually looks great at an awards show? And she's got an amazing, envy-worthy dress? I AM SO CONFUSED.
Melora Hardin: I like the dress, except that the pendant/gathering seems to fall at a weird part of her body, but her makeup and hair are way too much and far too severe. Eeek, Crazy!Jan attacks even on the red carpet ;)
Chandra Wilson: It's a boring dress, it makes her look huge and stumpy, and the attempts to make it interesting (the slit, the ... jewel-thing? what are those?) are kind of awkward. Sorry, Bailey.
Cynthia Nixon: It's not very interesting, but the color's gorgeous and you don't see it often.
Alan Cumming: Uh, what?
Angela Kinsey: For me, she's the best-dressed of the Office ladies! It's not an amazing dress, but it's pretty, a good color, and certainly better than what most of the others were sporting.
Lauren Conrad: Yawn. Didn't she design this? Ooh, it proves she can put a bunch of black fabric together and then stick an awkward brooch on it. Good for her.
Kate Flannery: Hey, she looks great, too! I would have preferred if her dress had stayed sleek the whole way down as opposed to "flaring out" at the bottom, but I do like it.
Julie Benz: Besides the color, which is a little too much, it's pretty... meh.
Steve Carell & Nancy Wals: <333333333333333 I love Nancy's dress too, because I love really interesting black/gray dresses. (Someday you will win an Emmy, Steve. ;_; )
Cheryl Hines: It's an interesting white dress! Run for the hills! I feel like she's too old for it, though...
Lee Majors & Faith Majors: I think I like her dress, but I can't really see enough of it to fully judge.

Dae Kim & Mia Kim: I LOOOOOOOOVE her dress. Plus, it looks actually wearable in real life if you make it like knee-length. Must. Steal. It. Now.

Laura Dern: It's very prommy, but I still like it. She might be a little too old for it, though.

Jenna Fischer: Oh, Pam, you know I love you, but this dress makes you look terribly bloated and like you have no waist. The color's also kind of cheap-looking. I like her hair, though.
Kate Walsh: The dress isn't my favorite, but it's an interesting take on boring ol' black. Love her hair/makeup.
Mary-Louise Parker: It's a fantastic color and she looks absolutely great in it. And not mildly stoned! Wow!
Mariska Hargitay: I think I'm reading that people don't like this... what? I think it's absolutely fantastic. It's a great color and cut, and she looks really really youthful.
Christina Applegate: That's a crazy dress, but she looks absolutely amazing.
Kathy Griffin: Hideous.
Tina Fey: It's simple and kind of boring, but she looks fantastic in it.
Heidi Klum: It's great (I am a magpie and drawn to anything sparkly), but like Glenn, it would have been much better without the silly cape thing.
Sandra Oh: I actually love it. Much like her one-time Grey's Anatomy co-star Walsh, it's a very interesting take on boring black (and honestly, a boring cut too).
Olivia Wilde: This is like some terrible prom-dress-cum-wedding-dress. It's boring and it washes her out.
Rainn Wilson: Uh, okay. It's a tux. I agree with the writers of these blurbs that he actually looks pretty good in glasses.
Kathleen Robertson: I don't know who that is, but this dress is okay. Again, pretty boring. I like what I can see of her earrings, though!
Debra Messing: It looks kind of like a garbage bag but A REALLY FANTASTIC GARBAGE BAG THAT I WOULD TOTALLY WEAR.
Lisa Edelstein: If the pattern was on her entire dress, it might work. As is, especially with the somehow annoying "gee, aren't I cute!" stance she has, she looks like a friggin' lamp.
Jaime Bergman: All these white dresses are somehow yawn-enducing, while the black ones rock. Huh. Who knew?
America Ferrera: I love her, she's gorgeous, and her hair and makeup is perfect. However, this looks like a garbage bag, but unlike Debra Messing's, SO NOT a garbage bag I would wear. It's a bad dress.
Nicollette Sheridan: ...wha-what? Nicollette Sheridan actually looks great at an awards show? And she's got an amazing, envy-worthy dress? I AM SO CONFUSED.
Melora Hardin: I like the dress, except that the pendant/gathering seems to fall at a weird part of her body, but her makeup and hair are way too much and far too severe. Eeek, Crazy!Jan attacks even on the red carpet ;)
Chandra Wilson: It's a boring dress, it makes her look huge and stumpy, and the attempts to make it interesting (the slit, the ... jewel-thing? what are those?) are kind of awkward. Sorry, Bailey.
Cynthia Nixon: It's not very interesting, but the color's gorgeous and you don't see it often.

Angela Kinsey: For me, she's the best-dressed of the Office ladies! It's not an amazing dress, but it's pretty, a good color, and certainly better than what most of the others were sporting.

Same with Wiest, and though I don't watch Brothers and Sisters Griffiths is awesome by virtue of being Rachel Griffiths. Shocked, but not disappointed at all, that Bryne didn't make it in here; I thought she was the biggest lock of the category, but she's not great, so I'm happy.

Best Actor - Drama
Gabriel Bryne - In Treatment ("Paul and Gina: Week 4")
I really like what I've seen of In Treatment. Gabriel Bryne is always quite good. In fact, of all the actors on this list that I've seen a lot of, I think he might be my favorite.
Kyle Chandler - Friday Night Lights ("Last Day of Summer")
I've never watched but I've heard great things. From now on, this scenario will be referred to as NWHGT, because there are a bunch of 'em.
Bryan Cranson - Breaking Bad ("Pilot")
NWHGT.
Patrick Dempsey - Grey's Anatomy ("Freedom")
He's better than he often gets credit for (like, he's not just "acting with his hair"), but a win, and maybe even a nomination would be overkill.
Michael C. Hall - Dexter ("There's Something about Harry")
NWHGT. And I liked him in the couple of episodes of Six Feet Under that I saw, but really, both TV shows creep me out, a lot, and I'm not struck by any sort of desire to ever watch Dexter.
Jon Hamm - Mad Men ("The Wheel")
What I saw of Mad Men is really great. I'm actually going to try to watch this season, no, for reals guys. All the acting's very good, and though I watch far too little TV to make personal awards, I think it's between him and Bryne for me.

He's quite good, and really cute. That said, the supporting people are the real stars of this show.

I'm so tired of him. He never deserved to win over far better candidates.
Charlie Sheen - Two and a Half Men ("Is There a Ms. Waffles?")
Like all of Two and a Half Men, I despise him. Ugh.

Christina Applegate - Samantha Who? ("The Restraining Order")
Never watched, but I think she's so effing adorable. I'd love to see her win.
Marcia Cross - Desperate Housewives ("Now You Know")
Desperate Housewives sucks, but she's absolutely outstanding. My other favorite in this category.
America Ferrera - Ugly Betty ("Odor in the Court")
I adore her, and she's a big part of why her show is still watchable, despite having, as I've said before, an awful sophomore slump. But I can't pretend she's half as good as Marcia Cross or Mary-Louise Parker.
Tina Fey - 30 Rock ("Sandwich Day")
She's very, very funny, but it's far from the most nuanced or varied portrayal. She's absolutely deserving of the nomination, and absolutely not deserving of the win.
Anna Friel - Pushing Daisies ("Bitter Sweets")
Yeah. She's adorable. Hopefully, she can get a nomination.
Felicity Huffman - Desperate Housewives ("Now I Know, Don't Be Scared")
She was fantastic in the earlier seasons, but then her performance got a little too dramatic and not so much comedic. I've definitely always preferred Marcia Cross to her.
Eva Longoria Parker - Desperate Housewives ("In Buddy's Eyes")
Yeah, I liked her. I gotta say, the main four in Desperate Housewives do a fantastic job, even if the show is terrible. And not so much a comedy.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus - The New Adventures of Old Christine ("One and a Half Men")

I think he's awesome, but again, there are more deserving candidates on this list. Sorry, Kevin.
Justin Kirk - Weeds ("Bill Sussman")
Much like Mary-Louise, he remained awesome even while the show wasn't so much.
Neil Patrick Harris - How I Met Your Mother ("The Goat")
I watch this show for him and I haven't given it up yet. He's so effing awesome. If Krasinski or Wilson can't win, I'm cheering for him hardcore.
John Krasinski - The Office ("Branch Wars")
Oh, so obviously. Please please please please pleeeeaaaase give him a nomination!! While I don't understand the original Office outpouring of "Branch Wars" love (series? Carell?!), it makes total sense here. I seriously doubt he'll win - even the nomination is doubtful, because in the category that's normally "wacky sidekick" he plays a totally normal guy with, gasp, nuance - but he certainly deserves to.
Jack McBrayer - 30 Rock ("Episode 210")
He's outstanding and pretty darn adorable.
Tracy Morgan - 30 Rock ("Secrets and Lies")
He... plays himself. Sorry, guys. I really hope 30 Rock doesn't get both nominations here, because Morgan isn't terribly deserving. Wouldn't complain about McBrayer though (as long as he's not over Krasinski :P).
Jeremy Piven - Entourage ("The Day Fuckers")
I. Love. Him. He's the continued reason I watch Entourage. That said, three Emmys in a row, when the competition is so strong (Krasinski, Wilson, Harris, even Kirk and Dillon), is overkill. But I still wouldn't mind it, actually.
Fred Willard - Back to You ("Cradle to Grave")
Never watched, heard nothing.
Rainn Wilson - The Office ("Money")
Can we please just give him a fucking Emmy already? PLEASE?????

I love her to death and she was absolutely robbed last year, but if the voters had actually watched the tapes instead of just voting for a name, Angela or Melora would be in her place (or rather, along with her in this category). That said, I'm still hoping she gets the actual nomination, and I'd be totally thrilled with a win.
Jane Krakowski - 30 Rock ("The Collection")
I adore her here. I wouldn't mind a nomination. She's certainly better than the Two and a Half Men ladies.
Judith Light - Ugly Betty ("I See Me, ICU")
She's pretty good, but Vanessa Williams is spectacular.
Elizabeth Perkins - Weeds ("Risk")
Yeah, she's awesome. It's funny, the three awesome performances from Weeds are actually recognized at the Emmys, and the rest of the performances on this show are... not. so. awesome.
Amy Poehler - Saturday Night Live ("Tina Fey")
Okay, now I know they're just doing it by voting for "names." Because if they weren't, Kristin Wiig, who's far, far better, would be here. Though I'm not all that crazy about her, either, certainly not as much as many magazines are (cough, cough, I think she blew Entertainment Weekly too, cough). Bill Heder is probably the best member of the Saturday Night Live cast right now.

NWHGT. And I liked him in the couple of episodes of Six Feet Under that I saw, but really, both TV shows creep me out, a lot, and I'm not struck by any sort of desire to ever watch Dexter.

What I saw of Mad Men is really great. I'm actually going to try to watch this season, no, for reals guys. All the acting's very good, and though I watch far too little TV to make personal awards, I think it's between him and Bryne for me.

Emmy Shortlist Thoughts.
Click here for the lists. Keep in mind, I haven't seen the full seasons of almost any of these shows.
COMEDY
Curb Your Enthusiasm (I like this show enough, but it's not really brilliant. It's broad humor done by the guy who did Seinfeld, so it reads as non-broad. If it's chosen, though, I'm not really offended.)
Entourage (I love Entourage, mostly for Jeremy Piven, and he's fantastic in the episode they chose, "The Day Fuckers." I think it's his submission tape. That said, it wasn't the best episode ever.)
Family Guy (I used to love it, but it's really a stupider, broader Simpsons. It's better than The Simpsons is now, but can't compare to it at its height. Though, yeah, I can't deny it's, in its better moments, really funny.)
Flight of the Conchords (Hilarious, zany, and pretty brilliant. My third favorite in this category, but I don't think it has a chance in hell at the nomination and I'm amazed it even made the shortlist.)

Pushing Daisies (I'm not as enamored of it as others - it rips off Amelie and Burton's aesthetic a lot - but it's totally charming and sweet. And it's got Raul Esparza.)

Happy birthday, Miss Angela Kinsey!
For my money, she should be winning Best Supporting Actress - Comedy Series (or whatever it's called) at the Emmys this year. The amount of depth she brought to Angela, while stealing every freaking scene she was in with her hilarity, was just the kind of stuff awards were made for (but unfortunately never recognize). I hope she's spending a wonderful day with the surely lovely baby Isabel!

The Office and Emmys, pre-S4.
Don't you looooove this picture?! IIRC it's post-Emmys when they won Best Series.
So we analyzed the crap out of what episodes The Office actors should submit for the Emmys in S4, but what about the best episodes in the past seasons for the actors? S1 doesn't count so much. That said, I think S4 was the best so far in terms of getting as many actors as possible a good episode. Keep in mind I haven't seen parts of S2 or S3 in kind of a while, so if there's something really blatant I'm missing...
Season 2
Steve Carell: Booze Cruise
Obviously he's hilarious, but he's also got that incredible scene on the deck with Jim. I can't believe he was the only one acting-wise to get nominated in S2, but it's bullshit that Tony Shaloub won for the 2860948609486th time.
Rainn Wilson: Dwight's Speech
"Dwight's Speech" is kind of a one-joke episode, but that one joke is extremely funny. The episode revolves entirely around him, giving him a boatload of screentime too.
John Krasinski: Casino Night
How does anyone not fall in love with him, utterly and totally, after this? My only worry is that it might have been too serious and not comedic enough, but that's never stopped them from fawning over Felicity Huffman on Desperate Housewives in the past. That said, he could also go for "The Secret."
Jenna Fischer: Boys and Girls
Heart. Broken. Again, this might be too serious, but S2 Pam wasn't really incredibly funny, so, and her acting is just too damn good here.
BJ Novak: The Fire
RY-AN STARTED THE FIRE!!! I'm also a big fan of that face he makes in "Michael's Birthday," but that's like 4 seconds long.
Angela Kinsey: Christmas Party
She's typical tight-ass Angela, but she also shows her softer side and you feel really bad for her for, at least for me, the first time.
Melora Hardin: The Client
Everyone likes to see an ice queen shatter.
Leslie David Baker: The Dundies
From throwing out his Dundies to "it's this person whose hand I'm holding, Michael?" to the speech, it's all fantastic.
Brian Baumgartner: Casino Night ?
I might be the world's biggest Kevin fan, but he didn't have much in S2.
Creed Bratton: Casino Night
Oh, he just loves to steal things. I recently re-watched some episode in S2 where I was like "haha he's so GREAT here!" but I don't remember which one it was.
Phyllis Smith: Office Olympics ?
Again, she usually doesn't have all that much.
Kate Flannery: Christmas Party
BAHAHAHA THE SCENE WHERE SHE FLASHES MICHAEL AHAHHAHA.
Mindy Kaling: The Carpet
After all, it's the first episode where Kelly has a personality. Oh, and what a personality it is...
Paul Lieberstein: Casino Night
I so love his face when Michael bitches at him.
Oscar Nunez: The Secret ?
Did he have anything better in S2? I wonder if Dwight will ever get his favor... it'd be hilarious if some S5/S6 episode revolved around it, randomly. Oh man, what if Oscar's the one to get Dwangela together again, for good, somehow!
David Denman: Booze Cruise
Eh. Ya'll know of my hatred for Roy. I don't really pay much attention to him during any given episode, but the proposal was well-played.
Amy Adams (JESUS!!!!): Booze Cruise
Because she had way more screentime here than in "The Fire." Did she submit for Guest Actress in S2? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Granted, she wasn't nearly as famous then as she is now.
Season 3
Steve Carell: Business School
He submitted this, I know... and how he didn't win, I have no idea. Alec Baldwin was the one with the weaker tape last year, but I guess the two of them split the vote, or the Emmys felt they owed Ricky Gervais for the British Office...
Rainn Wilson: The Coup
Again, I know he submitted this. And again, how he didn't win, I have no idea. But, I believe I said that Jeremy Piven should win in this category for all eternity, and I can't say I'd mind terribly. But, eventually, he should bow out for Wilson and Krasinski. ;)
John Krasinski: A Benihana Christmas
Very funny, very touching, and a boatload of screentime. "The Job" was another option. Why the heck he submitted "Business School" last year, I'll never know. Not that he was bad in it or anything, but he had so many better options.
Jenna Fischer: Beach Games
The deadpan, duh. The speech, duh. I know she submitted "The Job," and that was also a fantastic choice. That look at the end...
BJ Novak: Initiation
BJ Novak can keep on writin' episodes that focus on his character as long as he maintains his hardcore JAMmer status :P
Ed Helms: The Return
Love him or hate him, he's so Andy in this episode.
Rashida Jones: Back from Vacation
I think my favorite Karen is SnarkytoJim!Karen. Like, I love when he walks in to that room she's in, all mopey, and says "Do you want to talk about it?" and she just goes "nope" and walks straight out. Awesome.
Angela Kinsey: Traveling Salesmen
CuteGiddy!Angela is the greatest Angela of all the Angelas. "The Return" was another option; I think those two episodes were the ones that made me realize what an acting force Angela Kinsey is. I adore her, and if she gets a nomination for S4 I'll shriek in delight.
Melora Hardin: Cocktails
Why is this so hard? I also love her breaking down in "The Job," and that look on her face when Michael first sees her without her jacket on. So funny.
Leslie David Baker: Initiation
One could argue that this isn't the "real" Stanley, but oh my God it's still so funny.
Brian Baumgartner: Safety Training ?
Kevin was hilarious in S3 (as ever), but it was more a collection of little moments. He did seem to get a weirdly large amount of screentime in S4.
Creed Bratton: Grief Counseling ?
I remember him being funny (and even slightly dramatic??) here, but I have no desire to return to this episode. Ever. So I can't verify it.
Phyllis Smith: Phyllis' Wedding
Duh. Though that scene with "Did you break wind" is, quite literally, my least favorite scene in the entire series. Oh well. She can't be blamed. Yikes, I've been so negative about The Office in my last two write-ups here!
Kate Flannery: Women's Appreciation
Meh. Meredith doesn't get all that much screentime, for kind of obvious reasons (there's only so many "alcoholic and sex addict, LOL!!!" jokes you can make before it starts to get insensitive).
Mindy Kaling: Product Recall
This day is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S! If she gets episodes with a focus on her, I'd like to see way more like this, and way less (fewer?) like "The Deposition" (which, by the way, definitely improves with repeated viewings, even if it's never gonna be my favorite episode. "Branch Wars" is now my second-least-favorite episode of S4.). Gah, I want to stab her in the face in "The Deposition." Well, maybe that's a little harsh...
